During the month of March ’10 ECL has achieved 40.53
LT of coal production and 57.46 L.Cu.m of OB removal, which are highest
ever achieved figures in a month since inception of the company. During
the month of March’10 ECL has achieved AAP target for both coal
production and OB removal. During 2009-10 ECL has achieved 96.99%
coal production and 96.08% OB removal against AAP target.
It may also be noted that ECL has achieved the MoU target for coal
production which was fixed as 30 MT under “Very Good” rating.
However, in the month of March’10 also some quantum of coal production
was lost due to following reasons:
1
|
Substantial
quantity of underground production was lost due to suspension of
production activities at Kunustoria Colliery due to its sealing off
after fire. |
2
|
Underground
production suffered particularly at Mugma Area due to prolonged power
failure. |
3
|
Production
from OCPs at Rajmahal, Sonepur Bazari-B, Bankola etc suffered due
to stoppage of production and despatch a number of times by
unions/villagers on various demands. |
Profitability:
During 2009-10 company achieved a profit of Rs. 152.36 crore
(prov.)against a loss of Rs. 2109.09 crore during 2008-09.
Forestry clearance:
Forestry clearance of Hura ‘C’ project is pending with MoEF.
Introduction of Continuous
Miner at Sarpi UG mine:
For augmentation of UG production a contract was
signed with Joy Mining Machinery of UK in April 2009 for introduction
of Continuous Miner at Sarpi UG mine. Part of the consignment
i.e. Shuttle Car Load Centre and Quad Bolter have arrived at Kolkata
Port. However, the main equipment i.e. the Continuous Miner is expected
to be shipped in April 2010.
